Slow speeds with CM2000 modem and R7000 router
Modem: Netgear Nighthawk CM2000 (not sure why it's not identifying it in the "model" tag)
Router: Netgear Nighthawk R7000
Firmware Version: V1.0.11.100_10.2.100
OS: Windows 10 Pro
When I plug my PC directly into my modem, I get my full 800 Mbps. However, when I plug my PC into my router, I can't seem to go above 100 Mbps.
For context, I used to have a Netgear Nighthawk CM1200 (that recently broke) paired with the same exact router and could get up to 600 Mbps regularly plugged into my router. The only thing that's changed is my modem, and to a faster modem at that, so I'm not really sure where the bottleneck could be coming from now. My first suspicion is a router setting that might have reset when i had to buy a new modem and reinstall everything. I factory reset my router to ensure there wouldnt be any problems. When checking for updates for the router, it says I also have the latest firmware.

1. you don't have the latest firmware. the R7000 is currently on 1.0.11.123. Try installing that over a hardwired connection, then factory reset/reinstall the router.
2. have you checked the cables to ensure you have a gigabit connection? I've seen sketchy cables default back to the 10/100mbps connection

Updated and no dice. My current cables were a 2 for 1 special on amazon, so I just ordered some better ones, and will update when they arrive. Thank you for the heads up about the software. So dumb the auto-update wouldn't recognize it, yet its right there on their website.
