- After factory reset the setup wizard may kick in here, you'll just have to persevere through those daft questions

I dont under stand why you write : "But given the lack of information you provide on what you are doing, who knows where you err."
I have given all the information as fas as I know. And I also wrote that the R7000 isnt respinding to any button to get it into another modes.
I have read your messages, several times. They do not tell me what you do and what the results are.
Here is what we know from your description:
Atm its in my network and I can login to it but I can't switch it to another mode, like AP or Repeater. I think I tried everything but what ever I try, no result. I followed the manuals available on the Netgear pages. I reset the modem/router to factory default and manualy restarted it many time. Btw, the only way to restart it is by switching the power button off.
Sorry, but that is useless for diagnosing what is happening.
You say:
"I think I tried everything"
What do you mean by everything?
Then there is:
"I reset the modem/router to factory default and manualy restarted it many time."
Fine, what next?
And:
"the only way to restart it is by switching the power button off"
What point are you making there? Do you expect to see some other move you can make?
I described a very detailed process that you should follow.
Go through it a step at a time.
If one step fails for you, report back with which step you were on and what you saw.
It may well be that your device is dead, but my bet is on failure to follow the instructions at some crucial staged.
It may be that my explanation is confusing. That happens. If so, tell us which but puzzles you and we can see if there is a better explanation.
Enjoy abroad.

You do not want Repeat mode.
That is there if you want to use a wifi connection between the router and the R7000.
Access Point mode is for a wired connection back to the router.

My wiFi on the firts floor is to low so that would be one of the reasons to set my r7000 in Repeater mode or do you think that aint good?
My final goal would be that I keep in the same WiFi network when I go upstairs without loosing or having a very low signal.

- I clicked Apply, nothing happening. No auto reboot, just nothing. The only visual thing I see happening on screen are:
- 4 choices
- When I click choice 2 which is AP-modus I see some text and graphics appearing under those icons which are smaller. I don’t touch anything and just click Apply according your manual, the screen switches back to only the 4 options and nothing else going on.
- When I click on wireless setting on the ap-modus page I also get a warning the the WDS process is running and that changes have to be saved later
