Transmit power and antenna gain for Nighthawk x6 and x8 models?
Hi All, I checked the tech specs on the product pages for the Nighthawk x6 and x8 models and didn't see any mention of this. What is the transmit power for 2.4 GHz and 5GHz for each? Also what...

Not sure but I think I read that 700mw is the highest legal power and that is what the Netgear routers produce. The antennas look like 5dbi antennas. You can purchase higher gain antennas but they become more directional as the gain increases.

Jan 20, 2016Does the antennae gain or loss figure into the output level so the device does not exceed it's ERP?

The power remains the same with different antennas. The radiation pattern changes to a squashed doughnut pattern with high gain antennas. You loose omni direction and gain range with higher gain antennas.
