Updated to latest firmware and now buggy connections and Teamviewer won't connect

Have been troubleshooting a general connection issue with our cable company and now that's fixed (modem) but flashed to updated FW

 1.0.4.74

On the router and now we have very buggy connection and no pass through for teamviewer even within the network so thinking it's a router issue. Not sure how as there is nothing locked or blocked that I can find and no feature to whitelist anything.

Looking for something to check. Love how the free support expires even if it's new firmware smh

What modem/gateway is the router connected to?

were you having the issues prior to the firmware update?

anytime theres an issue after a firmware upgrade,I recommend trying a factory reset and reinstall. during the reinstall, don't use a backup configuration.

    try that first.

If it doesn't help, then we can try downgrading.

There have been a few problems with new firmware on the R8000.

If the idea from plemans fails then you might like to try a firmware rollback.

    Search - NETGEAR Communities – r8000 firmware

    This place is free.

Firmware updates can come along years after a device rolls off the production line. Sadly, very few brands support stuff many years after they have relieved you of your money. Try getting Ford to mend your five-year old car.

yeah I moved off dd-wrt back to the latest stock firmware for the R8000 and its absolutely awful. Latency, devices dropping off the network for periods of time, opening a new webpage for the first time gives instant can't connect error, then on refresh it loads. I have a NAS wired in and 720p video is lagging every couple of minutes to deliver over wifi.

I had dd-wrt for years and only moved off that as wanted to have the latest security updates, so if I'm forced to move back on firmware I will scrap the absolutely awful stock firmware
