VPN on R7800
I would like to install VPN on my R7800 router to protect all gadgets in my network when they access the internet.
Therefore I have the following questions:
- Does this modem have a VPN built in?
- What sofware does my modem need to accommodate VPN software?
- The vendor of my VPN software advises me to install Tomato as Firmware first. I just learned that the R7800 is not compatible with Tomato. As I understand Tomato is a software enabling the user to tweak the VPN in an easy way. Is ther any other programm that does the same and can be installed?
- I intend to use VyprVPN. Anyone have this installed and working on this router?
LEDE (OpenWRT) supports using the router as a VPN Client.
You can try Cezary's LEDE builds:

I understood from VyprVPN that they have no other way to get their application working on this router. So my next question is:
Is there any other VPN sevice that can be succesful installed on my router?
Just to be clear, the R7800 is a router, as you stated in your first sentence. It's not a modem, as you state in most of your questions.
The R7800 only has inbound VPN support. There is no outbound VPN support on stock firmware. You will need to use third-party firmware, like DD-WRT or OpenWRT. I don't have a R7800, so caveat emptor.
