  • I don't think Netgear has made any official statement, but I'm guessing that they pulled them due to all of the complaints.  If the firmware is working for you, then stick with it.  But if you are seeing the kinds of problems that others have reported (flaky Wi-Fi, port forwarding not working), then downgrade to 1.0.4.30.  It's likely that Netgear will be releasing a new version soon, so this may all be moot.

  • Thank you, person at NETGEAR, for stepping up and pulling those releases.

well crap, I already upgraded to 1.0.6.28 and the port forwading worked for a short while and then altogether stopped :(

It looks like I'm going to have to downgrade again... That's two bad firmware releases in a row.

  • R7000 firmware 1.0.4. did not work very well, main problem VPN , WEB gui no  port forward difficult if not impossible

R7000 firmware 1.0.5.60 Removed quickly, Web gui not sure,

R7000 firmware 1.0.6.28   main problem had ro reset and re-enter all portforwards,
    disable ARLO ,
turned on wireless optimize , great.
    Web gui works.
    VPN works,
No drop that i can see

The only firmware that workes for me is 1.0.6.28 , have it installed running with no issues at 5 sites.

I have 1.0.6.28 firmware best one yet.

Keep using port forwarding and just wait... It's very buggy.

It's not wise to continue running it at five sites if even the manufacture pulled the firmware.  Your anecdotal evidence doesn't mean the firmware actually works properly.

Mayby Netgear did pull because , like mentionned before complaints.

After trying all the firmwares since last december only 1.0.6.28 did every thing i needed and still does.

Like you mentionned buggy, did have that problem , did factory reset and re-entered all port forward, no issues since.

Even got Wake-up-on-lan working remotely properly through VPN.

        so just saying from experience.

        Have a great day
