Wifi but no internet, lost QR code for setup

Had WiFi but no internet connection, so went ahead and did a reset of everything. However, I no longer have the QR code. Now I am back to having WiFi and no internet (lost settings of course) and can’t get logged into the router anywhere. Going to the IP address takes me to downloading the Linksys app..??
I also have no laptop with an Ethernet port to set this up with directly. No access to the modem — live in an apartment building.
Help!

Not much of tour account makes sense to me.

You have a problem? What are you doing and where do things go wrong?

You don't need any QR code to set up a router. It may not be easy without a PC, but  heaven only knows where a Linksys app comes from.

Netgear uses its own Nighthawk app.

You can also use a wifi device to access the browser graphical user interface (GUI) on the R6400. Connect to the wifi with the factory settings on the label. Then aim a browser at

    routerlogin.net

    and take things from there.

    Visit the support pages:

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

Begin with the Quick Start/Installation Guide.

You may have done that already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear gave up on supplying paper manuals years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
