Wifi No Longer Works After Connecting Computers Directly to Modem
I recently connected two of my computers directly to my internet modem via ethernet cable, and as expected the internet is noticeably faster compared when I connected via wifi. However, now my wifi doesn't work for any of my other devices (iPad, smart phone, smart TV, etc).
Of course I've done the unplugging of everything at minimum five different times, I've tried resetting the router itself; and even after disconnecting the computers altogether from the modem (to mimic the good days of working wifi) it still didn't fix the issue. My wifi shows as an option on my phone, smart TV, etc however when all fail to actually connect to the internet.
It appears the issue is with my Netgear R6230 router.
I resolved the issue. My problem was that I had the computers plugged directly into the modem rather than the router.

What modem/gateway ar eyou connected to?
When you disconnected the PC's from the modem, did you power the modem and router off for a couple minutes.
Then power up the modem for a couple minutes, then connect the router to it and power the router on.
There needs to be the waiting times/power off times.
Also, the R6230 is an aged, slow system. Its coming up on time to be replaced. and wired will always be faster than wireless.

Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
