Will simply unplugging router to reboot cause any long term damage to it?

my Belkin router had an option to schedule reboots by selecting days and times, and I would like something similar for my nighthawk ac2350 v2, to keep things smoother since i still reset my router occasionally when a device loses/reconnects wifi over and over. a simple reboot solves the problem for a few days to a week or more.

Anyways, i am considering using a programmable electrical timer to schedule a reboot twice a week, and my question is if i simply cut the power off briefly to do reboot will it cause any damage?

I mean cutting the power off abruptly vs pressing the power button on the router or doing the reboot via the router interface

  • Using a timer is not an issue. Others do the same to various routers.

EDIT: Basically the power button does the same thing. Just a cleaner way of cutting power to a device.
