Wireless speeds with Comcast and nighthawk

Frequently, every few weeks I noticed that my wireless Internet speed is very very slow. If I am plugged my nighthawk for a few seconds and re-plug it in my wireless Internet speed become normal again I have Comcast live in a condo in South Florida is this a problem with my nighthawk or Comcast or both I’m wondering if I should use the Comcast X1 wireless router to solve this problem . Does anybody have any ideas?

What Nighthawk product and model are you referring too?

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

What channel configurations are currently set on the router?

What devices are you speed testing with?

Is Smart Connect enabled or disabled?

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
        Turn off and unplug modem.
        Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

Wireless speeds with Comcast and nighthawk

Frequently, every few weeks I noticed that my wireless Internet speed is very very slow.

    how can you tell?

when you run speedtest.xfinity.com to get a numeric rating, what's it say?

    oooh, I bet it's bad.

there could be so many things.

like maybe the wifi switched from fast 5GHz to slow 2.4GHz.

these things are so sneaky and they all need to be checked.

    every single detail.  everything.

    humph.  yes.  we'll get it.
