X10 R9000 & SilverStone DS222 = no-go?
Hi, New here since I recently got myself a Netgear X10 R9000. I have two concerns I want help with but will create a second thread for the other one. What I need help with here is that my router does not mount my SilverStone DS222 USB3 harddrive cabinet when I connect it to any of the USB-ports. I have 2 1TB drives installed in the cabinet with RAID1, but I can't see that that has to do with anything really. The file system is EXT4 at the moment, but that should not be a problem as far as I have read.
The status light for USB light up on the router, but in the GUI it says that no device is connected.
I might aswell tell that I have another no-name USB3 cabinet with 2 500GB drives in RAID 1 which I connected earlier and it diden't recognise that one either at first. But after about 3-4 days it suddenly appeared in the router GUI!!!
Both those drives have external power supplys, so that should not be the problem.
I have also tried, i think, 5 different USB-sticks and they all mount as expected.
Has anyone else tried a DS222 and got it to work, or has any ideas?
Would DD-WRT be a solution?
I installed DD-WRT and the "problem" is solved.

ReadyShare has limited support for USB devices. The arrangement you describe is well outside its capabilities.
You can get an idea of what you can use from this page:

For serious networking use Ethernet.

It all looks like it can't support this particular device. But I have read Netgears support claim that it's supposed to supports way more than 1TB drives and among others EXT4 file systems. So I don't buy that just yet.
The cabinet does not require any specific drivers as far as I know. I can even connect it to my Android smartphone without any problems! Haven't tried that with EXT4 thou.

The OS on a router cannot hope to match that.
But don't take my word for it, I am just reporting what I have read here over the years. This tells me that no one has managed to get stuff like that to work. Maybe you have the magic touch.
