AT&T, said their gateway was the cause of my issues.

Guess what?  I've got the exact same problem, and my ISP, AT&T, said their gateway was the cause of my issues. They replaced the gateway and I no longer have any issues. 

 

I also get full speed on all 3 wifi bands, all of them set to Auto.

 

Also, when I called Netgear, I was NOT repeat NOT told I had to upgrade anything or that the issue was related to security in any way.

  • Auto 5 ghz channel selection might default to a DFS channel in a crowded neighborhood, which will impact the range and speed due to the lower transmit power.
