Hi After upgrading to 1.0.9.6, something has prevented some of my 2.5ghz devices from being able to connect to wpa2/3 setting when smart connect is enabled. the only way to resolve was to disable smart connect and change security to wpa2 only, or downgrade firmware which I have now done, and everything is working perfectly again. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks286Views0likes29CommentsRS700 firmware update 1.0.9.6 breaks Windows Server DCHP
For context, I use Windows Server 2019 DHCP for my DHCP Server, so I disable the DHCP feature on the router. After the 1.0.9.6 update I found that the Windows DHCP Server was broken and gave the error "The DHCP/BINL service has encountered another server on this network with IP Address, 192.168.1.1, belonging to the domain: ." Well 192.168.1.1 is the router, so I double check and DHCP is still disabled on the router, but Windows Server thinks the router is a DHCP server anyway, so I believe there is some bug in 1.0.9.6 that is making the router broadcast itself as a DHCP even when it is disabled. I downgraded to 1.0.7.96 and so far I don't have the problem anymore, but I'll have to check more later since I did find that on 1.0.9.6 if I temporarily unplugged the ethernet from the server that Windows would happily start the DHCP service, so having it work now doesn't fully convince me that it wasn't a configuration error on my part. For some additional notes: The IP address given to my PC was not what my Windows DHCP server would provide, or what the router would have provided had DHCP been enabled, but it looked like something a DHCP server might provide since it was 192.168.1.100 (which is still in range of the router's default configuration, but I think it would have started with x.x.x.2 not, x.x.x.100), but maybe that is something windows falls back to, but if I remember right in ipconfig the info it did list the router, and not the Windows Server, as the DHCP server. I'm mostly posting this information in case anyone else has experienced this problem, and so that maybe Netgear will look into the issue.19Views0likes2CommentsFirmware 1.0.9.6 Issues
After upgrading to the latest firmware on my RS700, some wireless devices cannot connect to my EX80 extender. I don't have the one-network name bs enabled but it was working fine before this router firmware upgrade. I had to revert back to the old firmware to get it working again. Why don't they test these things thoroughly before releasing???70Views1like11CommentsAfter RS700 firmware update 1.0.9.6 cannot connect to my extenders
After the newest firmware update for my RS700 I cannot connect to my EAX20 and EAX12 extenders; it 'kinda' connects but I don't have internet access through them. I've tried everything: factory reset, several restarts, configuring through the web interface, through the Nighthawk app, nothing works :( Does anybody have the sam problems? Is it a firmware bug? Or some security bug fix that broke the connection?178Views0likes9CommentsNetgear Nighthawk RS700 MLO?
Hey I've read that Netgear is working for over a year now on MLO support. The last update I've read was from last december from DarrenM. Now again over 7 months later still no sign of MLO even with a new firmware update... For a premium router this is pretty damn bad support.83Views2likes2CommentsRS700 WAN lease issue
Hello, I've got an issue where by the WAN lease doesn't get renewed before expiry which then causes the Internet to be disconnected until restarting the RS700 (app & web login becomes unresponsive) Issue has only appeared since update to V1.0.9.6_2.0.100 ONT has been switched off at main too but issue still happens Thanks, Tim93Views0likes3Comments"Up to 5.8 Gbps" it only uses 20 Mhz
I am having the same issue, it keeps going to 20 MHz even though I'm trying to use this for a Quest 3 wireless access point. 20 MHz is not cutting it either for steamVR. I bought this router exclusively for this and it is performing worse than congested 5 GHz channels.143Views0likes7CommentsNighthawk RS300 latency
I have been using the Nighthawk RS300 for the last couple of months and I now constantly end up with dropped Teams and Zoom calls and general lag. I have realized that upload and download speeds are 30% through the RS300 than when plugged directly in to my Rogers Xfinity modem. Worse still, is that latency is dramatically worse through the RS300, with 158 down and 83 up. Are others experiencing issues with dropped calls and lag? Are there any suggestions to resolve this? I am on firmware version 1.0.1.9048Views0likes3Comments
