I am having the same issue, it keeps going to 20 MHz even though I'm trying to use this for a Quest 3 wireless access point. 20 MHz is not cutting it either for steamVR. I bought this router exclusively for this and it is performing worse than congested 5 GHz channels.69Views0likes5CommentsNighthawk RS300 latency
I have been using the Nighthawk RS300 for the last couple of months and I now constantly end up with dropped Teams and Zoom calls and general lag. I have realized that upload and download speeds are 30% through the RS300 than when plugged directly in to my Rogers Xfinity modem. Worse still, is that latency is dramatically worse through the RS300, with 158 down and 83 up. Are others experiencing issues with dropped calls and lag? Are there any suggestions to resolve this? I am on firmware version 1.0.1.9025Views0likes3CommentsAmber light - is it a problem? a 100/10Mbps
I have a RS700S and connected at Ethernet LAN port 4 is an OOMA phone device. Concern: Now, I receive a solid amber 4 on this port indicating that "Solid amber: The router detected a 100 Mbps or 10 Mbps link with a powered-on device." (from user manual) Configuation: My 10GB LAN port is not being used and the other three LAN ports 1-3 are being used. Status: The OOMA phone is working great, better that before and all other ports and wireless is working great. My only concern is this amber light. Question: Should I just ignore the AMBER light or is this a problem? If there is a problem, how can I fix it?Solved36Views0likes1CommentEX8000, RS8000P, &RS700 HTTP To HTTPS switch.
I thought I would change my extender and router from HTTP to HTTPS. However, once I did this, I got SSL certificate errors and could no longer login or connect to the devices. I was using Google Chrome. Finally, I direct wire connected to the devices and used Firefox to reset the devices back to HTTP. I still want to go HTTPS, but I do not know how to copy in new SSL certificates. What are my best options? Why can't I delete the old SSL certificates and create new ones with HTTPS when devices reboot? Is there an easier way to switch HTTP to HTTPS and still have the SSL certificates? Where do I find the new SSL certificates and where are they imported? I looked all over the Chrome browser but did not find any NETGEAR device SSL certificates - no local, your or root. Once I wire-connect to the router and login, do I get a new SSL certificate for all browsers or just for Firefox? Thank you.Solved51Views0likes4CommentsJust upgraded to fios 1gb. RS700 wifi uploads are like 50 to 120 mb/s
so having what appears to be same issue. just upgraded to fios 1gb. RS700 wifi uploads are like 50 to 120 mb/s . had an old orbi rbk50 around and it gets max wire speeds and consistent up down on wifi in hundreds of mb/s. figured maybe it is something in the 10gb port comms with older ont so tried setting wan aggregration and putting wan in the port 4 wan aggregation port. That worked somewhat and uploads doubled in speed but still lagging behind the orbi rbk50 speeds by about half.46Views0likes1Commentinternet dropped out of nowhere
Had the same issue with my RS700S recently — internet dropped out of nowhere. Modem was fine when connected directly to PC. What worked for me: Power cycle modem + router (turn both off, wait a few mins, modem on first, then router). Made sure Ethernet was in the WAN port, not LAN. Cloned my PC’s MAC address in the router settings — some ISPs lock to a specific MAC. Double-checked the router was set to Dynamic IP (DHCP) and not PPPoE.41Views0likes1CommentRS700S 6Ghz Bandwidth restricted to 20Mhz
Hello, I have a Nighthawk RS700S that is only 2-3months out of the 1 year hardware warranty. I recently detected that the WiFi 7 6Ghz band's signal strength was much less than typical, and upon investigation the 6Ghz band is restricted to only 20Mhz bandwidth. It has always had a 320Mhz bandwidth by default. I have confirmed with multiple devices (Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, S24 Ultra, and laptop's Intel AX211 WiFi 6E network adapter) that there are no interfering devices nearby (no devices appear on 6Ghz networks around me), and that my RS700S only broadcasts a 20Mhz channel on the 6Ghz WiFi. I have attempted to re-flash the latest firmware (1.0.7.96), factory reset, and ensured the 6Ghz wifi drop-down is set to the highest Mode: " Up to 11.5 Gbps". I've also disabled Smart Connect, tried different Channels, and regardless at all times the channel width is stuck at 20Mhz, even at the Auto-select Channel 69, and with no broadcasting 6Ghz devices nearby. I'm now wondering if this is a hardware failure, which is very unfortunate considering the standard warranty period just ended, and $700 is a significant router investment that I believed would last far longer than 1 year and 2-3months. Is there any support I can reach out to for a goodwill investigation? The support site is asking me to buy a contract, however I am reluctant to buy one if there is little chance of this being resolved if it is indeed a hardware failure. I've attached a screenshot of the 6Ghz band graph on it's default settings, with no other networks on any nearby channels. Thank you in advance for your support. - Miguel D.71Views0likes2CommentsRecommended extender for BE17000 — Nighthawk WiFi 7 Tri-Band Router
I have three questions: I have an old R8000P. I does not have smart connect and I can set a different name and password for each frequency. Can I do this with the BE17000? 2.What is a great extender to use with the BE17000? I would like at less 2 ports? 3. Is the power supply for the BE17000 100/240 - 60hz/50hz?Solved50Views0likes3CommentsNetgear C7000v2 (USB Readyshare)
Been using USB Readyshare on C7000v2 Modem/Router Combo since purchased a few years ago. Needed to add a new Separate Netgear router and it's clearly understood that USB Readyshare is deactivated when C7000v2 router mode turned off and put into "Bridge Mode - Modem Only" to work with the newly purchased router. However, I started thinking how I could get USB Readyshare to work if turned router mode back on and disabled all wifi signals and DHCP server to avoid conflict with new router. Works great when connected to PC only "without" new router, but once new router is added into the connections - unable to get any internet connection... So what am I missing?? Any Help or Suggestions are welcome... :-) Cat 5e from C7000v2 to PC gets internet and USB Readyshare works great. Cat 5e from C7000v2 to WAN port new router and Cat5e from new router LAN port to PC unable to get any internet connection thus no Readyshare either... Is there an IP Address needed on the C7000v2 WAN or LAN settings?30Views0likes1Comment
