Hi all, Was wondering if maybe there is a way to fix the bufferbloat caused by this router while gaming? The QOS is awful, tried that, limited download even and upload.. still got a F on Waveform bufferbloat test. I realize I really screwed up buying this as a competitive gamer, and realize now this is not remotely a gaming router. For some reason it showed up on Amazon search as a gaming router. Ive already disabled armor, turned off flow, but I think I am in between a rock and a hard place. I can not find any alternative firmware with real sqm, or any firmware for that matter. Was curious if there is a way to get beta updated firmware? I am not sure what to do, I hate to eat a $600 dollar waste, but its looking like that is my only alternative. I knew I should have bought an ASUS. I am a dummy.6Views0likes0CommentsCurrently I'm on old firmware rebooting the router 1-3 times a day
Netgear has had me provide dumps, run beta firmware, replaced the router, separate 2.4 devices in isolation of the guest network, reset factory settings, etc. They wanted me to run a different set of beta firmware.. I have had so many calls with them and tried so many things I have asked for a replacement to something other than the RS line/same set of firmware. Currently I'm on old firmware rebooting the router 1-3 times a day. I'm about after 20 years to leave Netgear. The quality reminds me of Citrix processors in the 90's. Very disappointing for a $580 investment.RS700 randomly lose Internet connection
I’ve been using the RS700 router for about two weeks. Everything was fine at the beginning, but recently it started to randomly lose Internet connection. Here’s what happens: The Internet suddenly disconnects while in use The Internet LED does not turn amber immediately — there is a short delay/gap before it finally turns amber Rebooting the router or applying any setting will immediately restore the connection The issue occurs randomly and frequently The modem and ISP connection seem stable. It looks like the problem is happening inside the RS700. Firmware versions tested (same issue on both): V1.0.9.16 V1.0.9.6 Is this a known issue? Any suggestions for troubleshooting or a temporary fix? Thanks in advance!Solved231Views2likes6CommentsRS700 - Firmware problems ongoing
Firmware version is currently v1.0.9.16 because the updated version v1.0.9.6 basically nuked the router and nothing would connect to the internet. I reverted it back to the v1.0.7.96 version and still had trouble getting that to work correctly. there is apparently a trial version firmware out there but I cannot seen to locate a legit download for it without contacting user: "BH_C NETGEAR Expert" Trial firmware v1.0.9.101_25.7.19 which is supposed to be for the RS700 fixes the issues described in multiple threads in this RS700 forum. I have discussed the issues for the better part of 4 hours with netgear support, being promised a call back, which never happened either time, and I had to call them back to try to fix the problems with the router. Then after being on the phone with them until 3:00am trying to fix the problem, they closed my case and the problems are still not fixed. Problems: #1. As others have stated, router is online and then loses connectivity (orange internet light) around 3 am and never regains stability until a reboot. Once the reboot is performed, not all devices will auto-reconnect to the network. #2. Netgear support in general is less than helpful and gives inaccurate information as to when a callback is going to happen, if it even does. When the router is being used for work-from-home functionality and is malfunctioning, that causes a serious problem, which was explained to their support reps as well. For some reason, this router went from being solid, to being a complete pillar of garbage after the firmware was auto-updated. Yes i do have a case number (closed by netgear without resolution) and yes I appear to be among the many people beyond frustrated and fed-up with the quality and service of Netgear products. If there is anything that will fix this problem, trial version or tested and proven, i am willing to try it at this point as setting up yet another multi-hundred dollar router is not an option for me and this router is less than a year old. Thank you in advance for any help anyone is able to offer on getting this fixed.357Views1like14CommentsRS700S Firmware V1.0.9.16 not working with NOKIA XS-010X-Q ONT
RS700S Firmware V1.0.9.16 still does not work with my NOKIA XS-010X-Q ONT The last version of the firmware that works with the NOKIA ONT is V1.0.7.82 With firmware version V1.0.7.82 I get 500 mbs download and 500 mbs upload speeds. With any firmware version after that I get 250 mbs download and 1 mbs upload speeds. My fiber plan is 500 mbs download and upload from my service provider. I am with Cox in the Phoenix AZ area. My daughter has a different ONT for her service in the Chandler AZ area and has issues also but not as drastic as my issues.113Views0likes6CommentsThe first time I had the issue I think I had seen there was an update the day prior to the V1.0.9.16
I am having issues with Firmware Version V1.0.9.16 It was a recent update just before thanksgiving I believe. Since then my router has dropped internet and stayed disconnected. I have an RS700. I can turn it off and back on and it will boot up and work fine without unplugging for 30 seconds, but I shouldn’t have to be doing this. The first time I had the issue I think I had seen there was an update the day prior to the V1.0.9.16. Both my 10gb and internet LEDs stay orange while everything else is white. I’m really grateful you have people working on this because I believe this is probably a wide issue.122Views1like6Comments
