iPhone Wifi Calling on Airplane Mode

On your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Vision Pro, open Control Center and tap the Airplane Mode button. This turns off all radios except for Bluetooth.

Enabling Airplane mode only turns off my mobile data connection. WiFi and Bluetooth both remain on. That is because I turned WiFi back on after enabling Airplane mode (quite a while ago). iOS remembers that I did that - and leaves it enabled when I enter Airplane mode again. That is mentioned in your second link.
That said, the wifi connection is the first thing to check when WiFi calling doesn't work.
