local device name service
I have installed a Nighthawk NF70 router on my home network. Each local device is getting a proper IP and is able to connect with the internet. What is not working is the local name service. I can use a browser and get a list of attached devices, I can allocate fixed addresses, but I cannot address the devices by name.

NF70? Doesn't look like a valid model#

Thanks, Should have been RF70
RF70 isn't a model either.
Usually though, if you're wanting to use your own local naming scheme for your home devices/addresses, you need to be able to manage your own DNS. Netgear doesn't have that so you'd have to setup your own DNS server and point the netgears DNS address at it. Then you could custom your own DNS naming for devices.

Perhaps on third try - cut & paste - RF70. I have moved forward. This machine seems to require ".local" after the device name. This is different from those supplied by my internet provider which used just the device name.
Whats this device look like? Please post a picture.
Please look at the sticker on the bottom or back of this device for MODEL#: information here.

Look at the label for the Netgear Model Number.

RS70 is a lowend BE3100 device. Could be what they have.
Interesting. Seems that NG is milking the RS model line for sure:

Thought they would have had enough RS models to select from. Guess this will be low budget for sure.
