The consumer router has nothing to do with connecting to an office VPN. That is entirely between the VPN software installed on the client computer and the office VPN. The router is not even aware that a VPN is involved.
VPNs are sensitive to the IP subnet of the local network and the network revealed by the VPN. Could you please take a minute to discover:
- The IP subnet created by the RS700S router. This can be found in the router web management LAN setup page.
The default for Netgear routers is 192.168.1.1 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, but there are factors which can cause it to be set to something else. - The IP subnet for the VPN network where those office drives exist. Perhaps the IT service provider can help with that.
- If they are both the same IP subnet, that can interfere with common operations
It would be useful to know which VPN package the office has installed and how you typically connect to the office drives.

This is because Netgear provides two methods to administer Nighthawk routers:
- The Nighthawk 'app' can be used to define many of the router features, but not all.
- The router web interface provides access to nearly every feature of the router. Setting up OpenVPN is described on page 158 of the User Manual.

Netgear includes OpenVPN Host capability in WiFi routers to allow the user to access the local LAN when away (i.e. from the Internet). This is exactly the opposite of what you are attempting to do.
