Re: RS700 Mesh Support
Hi guys, need some help here. We have 3 RS700’s. One is directly connected to the modem, and the other two are connected via Ethernet to other areas of the house. I’m not quite sure how to check if these are set up as AP’s/Mesh (if it exists yet) or standalone routers, but one of the issues we’re having is certain Sonos systems will show up on the app depending where in the house you’re at; kitchen (near router 1). Basement and living room (near router 2). Outdoor (near router 3). In typical mesh format you can see the entire sonos ecosystem.
How can we enable this as mesh via the nighthawk app? The website login doesn’t work anymore so the only way I can access the routers are via the app. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m not sure if I can return these as we’ve had them for over a year at this point, but it’s frustrating as I think we have 3 “different WiFi’s” even though we changed the SSID’s and passwords to all the same.

That being said, no, mesh isn't a feature yet.

The Mesh function is currently not supported. In your case, you have Ethernet cables connected the three RS700, you can set two RS700s to the AP mode and basically it will give you what you want.
* The issue that some Sonos systems cannot be found is because the three RS700 all operate inthe router mode. In the router mode, when the App is connected to one RS700 and the Sonos system is connected to another RS700, the App may not see the Sonos system.
* You can identify the RS700 connected to the cable modem or the fiber ONT (i.e. the RS700 that all devices will finally go through in order to access the Internet). Keep that RS700 inthe router mode.
* For the other two RS700, you can follow the instructions below to set them to the AP mode. Suggest you set a static IP address for these two RS700, write down the two static IP address, so later you can use the IP address tio access the router's management GUI if needed.

* Suggest you use the same SSID for all the 3 bands on the same 3 x RS700, and let the client devices to decide which WiFi access point to connect to.
I hope this helps.
