So I wound up rolling the firmware back to the previous version and everything started working again. It seems NETGEAR is working the solution and has some trial firmware available

What are these two devices?
What security level is set on the 2.4G WiFi?
(see page 73 of the User Manual https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RS700S/RS700_UM_EN.pdf)

Can you send the trial firmware to me as well? I have the same problem as I described in my reply to Jeffro535 a few minutes ago.

i have the exact same problem with some older 2.4Ghz (only) devices. One is a Honeywell wifi thermostat and the other is La Crosse weather station. Everything worked fine before I installed FW v1.0.9.6.
The La Crosse support team suggested I connect those devices to an extender/repeater which I did and they seemed to work ok after that. Problem was the extenders I have were old Netgear products no longer supported so I bought an EAX17 extender and it works..sort of. Although my legacy 2GHz devices can connect to the EAX17, the EAX17 itself cannot maintain an internet connection in the 2GHz band with the RS700 router for more than a few hours. Then it loses internet connection and any devices connected to the extender won’t function. Once I changed the channel assignment on the router from 1, to 7 or 11, the extender and connected devises would work again, but only for a few hours.
I was told today that the new, yet to be released EXS27 extender will correct this. Who knows. It’s a disaster for anyone who still needs to use the 2GHz channel.
