RS700 and Firmware
I should have saved my confirmation but I didn't. I recently got T-Mobile Metronet Fiber and turned out I has ti do a factory reset on my RS700to get it to work with the Fiber. I converted it fro...

RS700 running V1.0.11.6 - experienced duplicate IP addresses. I am sure this suggestion will sound as silly to you as it did to me - try re-flashing V1.0.11.6. Yes, sounds silly, but it resolved my problem with duplicate IP addresses. You must download the V1.0.11.6 FW from NG support site and apply the flash from the file using the UI instead of online (Advanced/Admin/Router Update/Manual tab -select the .chk file from the zip). Please update thread with your results. If it does resolve your problem, we should open a case on FW flash procedure. I have turned off "Auto FW Update" to avoid surprises.

I have and nothing. Sometimes a refresh will happen and it seems to change. Sometimes it doesn't. I have had, not a duplicate, but I had a decide have an ip address of 192.68.0.1. That ip is my gateway. So, I have no idea how it hit there.
but again, when I had Comcast, I had duplicate problems before but I remember, I changed the FW version and the problems went away for quite a while. Now, since I converted to Fiber and did the factory reset (with Premium Support on the line) I got connected to the Fiber. So that worked. Now, however, I have the duplicate problem. I opened another ticket under premium support but they said they would get back to me because it makes zero sense and they are saying what is going on in the router they haven't seen before.
I just figured I would try something/anything in the absence and since the duplicate IP is a common problem with this router I really don't have any hope they will fix it.

Thanks for that info. I have downloaded and manually attempted all the FM's but may I will try again on the 1.0.11.6. Nothing else is helping so I guess it wouldn't hurt.

Surprisingly, that worked. Now, I don't know when will happen is I add another device and it will do a duplicate but we will see. Thus far, this has worked though! Thanks,
And yeah, the Netgear Premium support never got back to me; waste of a subscription cost. :-(- FURRYe38Jun 11, 2026Guru - Experienced User
Glad you got it working. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
