If you have connection issues with WPA2 or WPA3 after the firmware is upgraded to v1.0.9.6, please let us know if you would like to try trial firmware. We've identified some possible causes and we would like to confirm if that address all the cases reported here.
Please PM RichardTTT if you would like to give it a try. Thank you.

I did have some issues with the v1.0.9.6 firmware and Wifi performance.
I have a separate 2g band configured on a different SSID for certain IOT devices that work only with 2g and get confused when Smart Connect is enabled, so I not use Smart Connect.
A couple of these devices failed to connect to the 2g band after v1.0.9.6 firmware upgrade. Some of those devices are a Trane ConfortLink II XL1050 and a Bond Bridge Part# B07CR99LXG.
I also may have been having problems with other devices some of which are connected to the Guest network, which is isolated from the rest of the wifi networks. Those devices are Roomba robotic vacuums, Ring Cameras and Chime devices. My network has over 120 devices connected of which about 20 are Wifi.
I did not run into fixed IP address changing from static or not following reserved settings on the router, but the RS700 router DHCP range is configured so that all static IP devices are outside the DHCP range which starts at 100. If the static devices are outside the DHCP range the router should not change or assign other devices to those IP addresses.
I did also see issue with the RS700 playing nice with Netgear access points like the WAX 630E when the Wifi SSID's are the same but configured on different channels far away from the router. That seemed to work fine with prior firmware versions as well.
