If you have connection issues with WPA2 or WPA3 after the firmware is upgraded to v1.0.9.6, please let us know if you would like to try trial firmware. We've identified some possible causes and we would like to confirm if that address all the cases reported here.
Please PM RichardTTT if you would like to give it a try. Thank you.

Hi there,
Thanks for sharing your experience — you're definitely not alone. Several users have reported similar issues with 2.4GHz devices struggling to connect when using WPA2/WPA3 combined security under Smart Connect after updating to firmware 1.0.9.6.
Your workaround (disabling Smart Connect and using WPA2 only) is a solid temporary solution, and reverting to the previous firmware is also a valid step until a more stable release is available.
Hopefully, the developers will address this in the next update. In the meantime, sticking with WPA2-only security and manual band separation seems to provide the most consistent results for older or less compatible devices.
Let us know if you find any other tweaks that help!

I tried all the setting adjustments like WPA-2 on 2 GHz band and no SmartConnect but still had connectivity issues. Furthermore I had some interesting problems with my ethernet connected NAS drive, it wouldn't accept remote reboot commands anymore either.
The only fix that worked for me to correct all these issues was to downgrade the firmware. After nearly 2 weeks of troubleshooting and finally getting my system back working again I was not eager to try out the trial firmware so can’t comment if that works or not. But downgrading definitely does and without any significant tradeoffs that I can see, so I’ll just stay with that until a hew release comes after v1.0.9.6 (assuming it has no other issues).
