- What modem do you have?
- What are you gaming on?
- Is your gaming device hardwired or wireless? (it should always be hardwired if you're a competitive gamer, wireless adds latency)
- what speeds do you pay for?
- QOS isn't all its cracked up to be with some of these consumer devices. If you're competitive gamer and making money off it, invest in an Intel N150 minipc with 2.5 gig or higher ports and install opnsense or pfsense to it. They offer much more customized tuning than any of the consumer equipment. Then just connect a router to it in access point mode to use the router for wireless.

I have the Spectrum 1 gig modem/plan (its brand new), if I plug straight into modem... I have 0 bufferbloat. I also have packet loss if I am plugged into the modem, and I am hardwired. QOS on the RS700 is absolutely worthless, that gives me a insta F rating on bufferbloat test. I am gaming on a 4090, 149000kf, 64 gig ram, pc. I have run several tracert and pathping.. this router sucks, I have tried plugging into 1,2,3,4,LAN.. flow control off, flow control on, tried the 10gbps... this router is awful. Im ready to pitch it in the trash and pickup a ->
