RS700 Horrible Bufferbloat...
Hi all, Was wondering if maybe there is a way to fix the bufferbloat caused by this router while gaming? The QOS is awful, tried that, limited download even and upload.. still got a F on Wavefor...

- You have packet loss when plugged directly into the modem? You shouldn't.
- If you have 1 gig service, disable qos. Then reboot the modem. Sometimes a reboot helps clear things out.
- Make sure any parental controls, access controls, netgear Armor, or VPN's are disabled. They cause traffic inspection and increase buffer bloat.
- Since setup, have you tried a simple factory reset and testing it from default? I don't have the RS700 but I have the RS600 and its scoring a A on bufferbloat with both my wireless device and wired PC.
- Is the PC you're using hardwired or wireless?

No. If I am hardwired (and yes my PC is hardwired) into the modem directly, 0 problems, A bufferbloat test, 0 packet loss, and my games run smooth as butter. If I plug into the router, armor is off, access control is off, qos is off, no VPN, and I have factory reset multiple times. I am assuming they put better firmware on the RS600... Netgear has really gone downhill for the competitive gaming scene. I actually believed this would at the very least do what is advertised, but it doesn't. The firmware needs completely reworked, the QOS needs an update from 2023.. like seriously, thats crazy. I have never regretted buying a product, ever, as much as I regret buying this future paperweight. My wife is not a very happy camper that I have to plug directly into the modem and she doesn''t get wifi when I am playing for money. I literally bought a $600 dollar paperweight.
