RS700 ipv6 lost when modem drops

I have Spectrum cable internet and noticed when my modem loses connection. I lose ipv6 when it comes back up. If I reboot the router, IPv6 comes back. Thoughts? Using auto detect RS700, it selects DHCP if that has any bearing.

    Latest FW version?

Brand and model# of ISP modem?

How is IPv6 configured on the router?

Useing custom IPv6 DNS or Detected ISP IPv6 DNS?

    Try some custom IPV6 DNS.

Prefer to use my isp since it’s all automatic. I’m puzzled why the router does not recover ipv6 once the modem comes back up, weird.

  • This sounds like the router is not properly re-establishing the IPv6 session after the modem reconnects. Since a router reboot restores IPv6, it may be a WAN DHCPv6/RA renewal issue or a firmware bug. You could try updating firmware, reapplying IPv6 settings after reconnect, or switching IPv6 mode briefly to see if it forces a proper renegotiation.
