WiFi calling not working
Got my parents a new Nighthawk RS180 and now the WiFi calling for their Apple phones (AT&T) is not working. They need it as there is 0 cell service at their house. I turned off Armor and disabled...
Brand and model# ISP modem/ONT that the RS router is connected too?
It is a Calix GP1100G ONT
What iOS version is on the phones?
Has any other phones been tested at the parents place? i.e. Android or your phone by chance?
ONT is an ONT only so no router there.
Any Armor, SPC or IPv6 enabled on the router?
Might try putting the IP address of the iPhone it gets from the router into it's DMZ to see if WiFi calling works, as a quick test.
Do the phones work at other locations with WiFi calling? Say your place or a friend or neighbor?
Something you should check into, Ask ATT for a micro cell device if that could be of help for your parents. Something I have at my place since we get little cell service signal. Just a cell service AP that connects to your router and you put a signal sensor near a window. This gets a satellite signal for authentication is all. Phones connected to the microcell AP. All calls made thru the microcell goes thru the router and internet services.
Yes EVERYTHING worked fine with WiFi calling until the new router, 100% it’s the router.
Thanks for letting me know about that device but I’d prefer to keep extra devices at a minimum for the sake of my parents.
As stated, I had turned off Armor protection. I will try the DMZ allowance and see if that helps. Also going to break apart the WiFi bands if I can and try 2.4 and 5 individually.
