How to turn the WiFi off
Hello everyone,
Because we have a new router with a better 5GHz WiFi band, I wanted to turn the 5GHz WiFi signal off on this R7000 router. This isn't very easy. Does anyone know how to turn of of the wireless signal of this 5GHZ band?
Thanks in advance.

Here's steps to turn off the 5GHz radio using the R7000's adminstration web interface.
- Head over to http://192.168.1.1 (assuming you haven't changed the default IP) and login with your router's admin credentials
- On the router's admin landing page, click the "Advanced" tab
- From the menu items on the left, click to expand "Advanced setup"
- Click the "Wireless settings" link
- Uncheck the box preceeding "Enable Wireless Router Radio" under the section titled "Wireless Advanced Settings (5GHz a/n/ac)"
- Click the green "Apply" button at the top of the page
This will turn off the 5GHz radio and you should no longer see the 5GHz SSID being broadcast. The 5GHz LED on the front of the router (4th from left), will also turn off.
Whenever I change settings that affect core functions, I perform a cold boot (unplug power, wait 30 seconds or longer, plug power back in), even if the router does that as part of applying changes to settings. Just don't unplug power while the router's performing it's updates.
Hope this helps.
