SSH to remove share that wont go

I tried to install egnyte but after discovering that they want silly money for synchronising I cancelled the trial. I now want to remove the share it created called ELC but it says it cant because it is in use. I have tried turning off the egnyte in the cloud menu and it still get the same error message. I have not used the software for anything yet. I have downloaded putty (vista pc) and managed to start a session using root and password as the credentials. My question now being I would like to list the shares. I would like to see if there are any subdirectories. I would like to delete any subdirectories and finally the share. I have no knowledge of the correct syntax or the correct language I should be using linux???? perhaps. Any kind person can give me a heads up I would be most grateful. The egnyte software never showed up as an installed app by the way which in itself was suspect.

    Hi JulieJ,

    Welcome to the community.

After turning off Egnyte did you try rebooting the NAS and then checking if you could delete the share?

If you have, then it appears the issue you have described requires assistance from the engineers and/or higher tier who can remote in to the NAS and fix this from the backend.

Log in to your mynetgear.com account and create a support ticket. If you are beyond your 90-day complimentary support period, please consider purchasing a contract from the support group so they can escalate your issue to L3.

If you are not in a hurry lets patiently wait for anyone in the community who has the knowledge in the SSH commands and fixing some issues from the backend.

Deleting a share manually from the backend would require not only deleting a share but deleting all the references to it in several different config files/directories.

Egnyte used to be an app but now enabling/disabling it is managed from the Cloud tab of the web admin page. It's normal that it doesn't show in the app list.

    Regards,

It appears that there is a known issue that is being looked into.
