User access logs (at the NAS)

OS 6.7.5

Are there any user access logs at the NAS (not at the client side)?

I myself access the NAS via LAN, but I share files with some co-workers who use the ReadyCLOUD desktop client and I had some (newer) files being overwritten with older versions and I need to find out how this happened.

Thanks,

Alois (Graz, Austria)

    Hello AMK64,

There is no logs on the NAS that will list all local and remote user when they access the share/folders. The share/folder where that specific file is save is it set to sync using any cloud feature of the NAS like ReadyCloud, ReadyDrop  etc.

      Thanks Marty!

Too bad there isn't such a feature as it would help a lot...

Yes, the share is accessed by 2 (external) users via ReadyCLOUD and me (being a local user). They have their desktop client usually set to non-syncing, but from time to time they perfom a "forced" sync to be up to date. I suppose one of them just changed the file and saved it (while non-syncing) and I had also made changes to the file in the meantime. So when he did his forced syncing (after my changes), my changes were gone and his changes were there. Do you think this could have had happened that way?

      Thanks,

        Hello AMK64,

That is a possibility, I would recommend to have separate share/folder for each users to sync with. As for the file that you share to your co-workers make sure the share/folder is not setup to sync with the any cloud feature of the NAS.

There should be more options here - particularly for remote users.  Space could be an issue, but these extended logs could be put on the data volume.
