apt-get package
Hi all,
I am not actually a readynas developer but I think this is probably the place to ask. I am trying to get python-libtorrent but when I do apt-get install python-libtorrent, I get package not found. How can I resolve it? Must NetGear add it to their repository? Or can I add another repository to apt's list?

It looks like I dont have an svn client (or even make) on my path though :-( Is this a better path (sorry for the pun) to go down in my quest for the library? - Search the forum for an updated etc/apt/sources.list. IIRC the VBox guides by Matty have decent updated lists.

- I ended up with the following after my hacking:
deb http://www.readynas.com/packages 4.2.24/
deb http://archive.debian.org/debian/ etch main non-free contrib
deb http://archive.debian.org/debian-security/ etch/updates main non-free contrib
deb http://archive.debian.org/debian-volatile/ etch/volatile main non-free contrib

Not sure Volatile is a good idea TBH, but I don't know, I've never used it, also stay from doing an apt "upgrade"
I've got squeeze and lenny, IIRC, on my lists also.- Yeah, volatile sounds a bit scary. Can you explain "stay from doing an apt "upgrade"" a bit? Lol. I actually have no idea what "I've got squeeze and lenny, IIRC, on my lists also." means either!
Like I say, I have *no* idea :-) - An apt-get upgrade will upgrade packages that are kept on old versions for a reason. If you update those packages you will lose access to Frontview (web-admin interface of Frontview) and probably have other issues as well.

- Those are newer distros. Installing some of those packages might work. Others may not.
- So copy what I have and replace etch with squeeze and lenny?
