I am referring to the Virus Scanner which you can activate either from the main screen, the link next to the red/green antivirus status indicator, or by clicking the virus protection button on the System / Configuration page.

This works correctly (with FireFox) on my RN526 - running OS 6.7.1.
So you might want to try upgrading your firmware and checking it again.

I am always using the latest firmware. 6.6.1 is the latest version available to my model (RN104) right now, I just checked manually.

Netgear always does release for manual upgrades first, and then puts them on the "check for update" servers after a delay.
6.7.1 production is available for your RN104, and you can get it here: https://kb.netgear.com/000038557/ReadyNAS-OS-6-Software-Version-6-7-1
Though since this isn't particularly urgent, you could just wait a bit longer and use "check for update".

Hello AGSowjet,
Yes, we are referring to the same virus scanner, that is the built-in AntiVirus of ReadyNAS. There is also an app called AntiVirus Plus which works no longer works on firmware version 6.6.1 and later. If you would click the hyperlink I sent on my previous message, you would know.
Like StephenB mentioned, 6.7.1 is now available. It is available for manual update.
To manually/locally update the firmware, here are the steps:
- Log in to the ReadyNAS. On the local admin page, select System > Settings > Update.
- Click the Install Firmware button.
- Click the Browse button. In the pop-up file browser that displays, navigate to the file containing the updated firmware and select it. The Update Firmware pop-up screen displays the name of the selected file in the File Name field. Click the Upload button. The firmware file uploads to your ReadyNAS system. After a few moments, the Update Firmware pop-up screen displays details about the new firmware.
- Click the Install button. You are prompted to reboot your ReadyNAS system to complete the firmware installation.
- Reboot your ReadyNAS system. If you enabled email alerts, your ReadyNAS system sends a message when the firmware update finishes.
