Error with apt-get install iperf - please help
Hi,
my home-network is very slow at the moment and I have to troubleshoot. My problem: I am aprrox. 500 km away from home and have only ssh. So I tried this:
apt-get install iperf
But I got that result:
My squeezeboxserver is running fine after a long periode of trouble and I don't want to change anything at the moment. Is there a way to bypass this squeezeboxserver-dependency-thing? I only want (need) to install iperf.
What I also tried was this:
I downloaded the deb-packet from the Debian-site manually and tried to install it with dpkg:
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

iperf is already the newest version.
You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
iperf: Depends: libc6 (>= 2.7-1) but 2.3.2.ds1-22sarge6.infrant1 is to be installed
Depends: libgcc1 (>= 1:4.2.1-4) but 1:3.4.3-13 is to be installed
Depends: libstdc++6 (>= 4.1.1-21) but it is not going to be installed
squeezeboxserver: Depends: sox but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libvorbisenc2 but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libvorbisfile3 but it is not going to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

Unpacking iperf (from iperf_2.0.4-1_sparc.deb) ...

- WhoCares_MentorMost likely you just downloaded the wrong package. Try downloading from archive.debian.org, not the official current repository.
