Did you login as the "admin" user?

unable to find any data\.apps\

with windows explorer, tried \\ip.address.of.nas\data\.apps\oscommerce\web\catalog,
error message: Windows cannot access - error code 0x80004005

my ReadyNAS admin user name and password is same as my Windows user name and password.
Authentication - access type is Local Users (not Active Directory)
Workgroup name same as Windows

Are you sure you are logged in as the admin user to the network share?

I'm sure the account i'm using is admin user.
Do i need to enable root SSH access?

Can you access just \\ip.address.of.nas\data with windows explorer? (this needs nas admin credentials).

Note data is the default volume name - if yours is not set up to use data you'd need to use whatever volume name is configured.

.apps is a hidden folder of course, but if you enable viewing hidden folders as a windows folder option you should be able to see it in \\ip.address.of.nas\data

Nope, I'm not able to access \\ip.address.of.nas\data with windows explorer.
but i'm able to access other shared folder with \\ip.address.of.nas\shared.folder.name with windows explorer same as described by the following article by netgear

below shows the services enabled on my system, is there anything else that must be set correctly?

I have set the correct Windows workgroup name in Account->Authentication page.
I do not have Active directory domain server.

If you can't access the data volume then that almost always means that you aren't using NAS admin credentials when accessing the share.

Did you try mapping the drive? Open cmd and enter

net use z:\\NASIP /user:admin password

where "password" is the NAS admin password. User must be admin of course.

You should see all the shares, but also the data and home folders.

with the command you provided, now i'm able to see data and home folders .

seems only the 'admin' user can access data volume from Windows.
the additional cloud user created with admin right cannot access that data volume even with net use command.

Correct. I tried to be clear when I said use the "NAS admin credentials". That means the NAS user account, not another account in the admin group.
