Plex Media Server fails to start on ReadyNAS 312

    I did uninstall postgresql, uninstalled plex and generated the missing locales according to http://linux.livejournal.com/1880366.html (which is one of the errors it was generating).

    After a reboot I was able to install plexmediaserver again using the upload function in the app page and the server does start indeed.

    I've gone through the setup and my libraries are rebuilding :( and :)

    Wether it was the uninstall of postgresql or the locales... I'm tempted not to install postgresql, because I'd rather not have and have plex... but I might try before my library is completely rebuild.

Hi Marty,

 

the latest package I was referring to is the NAS plex package from the official Plex site, where I've been getting all my releases after the initial install from the NAS app admin site.

 

Same with the postgresql package (downloaded from the Postgresql site).

 

I am running the latest stable firmware for the RN312 (whenever I am prompted to upgrade I do so through the NAS main admin screen).

It might all have gone wrong after I did the update of Postgresql (which I did after the update of Plex and did not check in between the two updates).

Hello NemoNL,

 

For isolation is it possible to uninstall Postgresql then check if plex media server would work. To check if there are components on Postgresql that is affecting the plex media server app. 


In any case that the app Postgresql is causing the problem it may not yet compatible with the new firmware, it is the developer that should update their app and submit it to Netgear.
