Hi, I was running Plex 1.12.2 on ReadyNAS 6.9.2. Today I went to install Plex 1.13.0 via the ReadyNAS web interface, however I receive the error message “Cannot install application plexmediaserver-ros6-binaries”. It had already come up with the usual app install window and churned around for a bit and uninstalled the old version. So I rebooted the ReadyNAS and it’s the same - still can’t install it. I then decided to upgrade the ReadyNAS firmware to 6.9.3. After rebooting I then went to install Plex again but still “Cannot install application plexmediaserver-ros6-binaries”. Thinking I was fortunate I noticed that I had the old Plex download on my hard drive, but alas that won’t install either. plexmediaserver-ros6-binaries_1.13.0.5023-31d3c0c65_amd64.deb plexmediaserver-ros6-binaries_1.12.2.4929-29f6d1796_amd64.deb So as of now I can’t install either version? Any suggestions gratefully received! ReadyNAS is far from full - it’s got 2.4TB free.Is PLEX compatibile with ReadyNAS 420 Series
Neither ReadyNas RN422 nor 424 are the PLEX compatibility list. Yet PLEX is listed in the Add-on Applications section of the ReadyNAS 420 Series. If one also consider that RN31X models are on the PLEX compatibility list it looks really strange that the 420 Series is not compatible. Cannot understand if is only a problem of updating the list, or if there is some real issue. Does anyone know if PLEX runs on a RN424?SolvedInstalled App not showing up on Installed Apps list
I recently installed a ReadyNAS firmware update. After installation it my Plex Applcation did not show up on the installed Apps list. In addition it does not show up in the Available Apps list. The App is running and I can see it remotely, however there is an update to the Plex App but I am unable to install it because I cannot see it on my Installed Apps or Available Apps. Currently running ver 6.9.1. How do I get ReadyNAS to recognise that Plex is installed?Plex Media Server fails to start on ReadyNAS 312
After a recent install of the latest package on my ReadyNAS 312 using the shell and installing the latest postgresql, my plex server fails to start. It fails to start from the app-page on the admin site, and if I try to start it manually from the shell I get the following message: root@NAS-Athena:/# systemctl start fvapp-plexmediaserver.service root@NAS-Athena:/# systemctl enable fvapp-plexmediaserver.service root@NAS-Athena:/# systemctl status fvapp-plexmediaserver.service● fvapp-plexmediaserver.service - Plex Media Server Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/fvapp-plexmediaserver.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled) Active: activating (auto-restart) (Result: exit-code) since Sat 2017-10-07 14:20:52 WEST; 1s ago Process: 22549 ExecStart=/bin/sh -c /apps/plexmediaserver/Binaries/Plex\ Media\ Server (code=exited, status=134) Process: 22544 ExecStartPre=/bin/sh -c /usr/bin/test -d "/apps/plexmediaserver/temp" || /bin/mkdir -p "/apps/plexmediaserver/temp" (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Process: 22540 ExecStartPre=/bin/sh -c /usr/bin/test -d "${PLEX_MEDIA_SERVER_APPLICATION_SUPPORT_DIR}" || /bin/mkdir -p "${PLEX_MEDIA_SERVER_APPLICATION_SUPPORT_DIR}" (code=exited, s tatus=0/SUCCESS) Main PID: 22549 (code=exited, status=134) Oct 07 14:20:52 NAS-Athena systemd[1]: fvapp-plexmediaserver.service: Unit entered failed state. Oct 07 14:20:52 NAS-Athena systemd[1]: fvapp-plexmediaserver.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'. Anyone any clue how to solve this? Or even what might have caused this? I've tried uninstalling plex (both initially from the app page and rebooting and then uninstalling from the shell) - neither seems to resolve the issue. I had similar issues to this closed post here: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Current-NETGEAR-and-Partners/Plex-app-un-install-borked-and-un-able-to-complete-un-install/m-p/1049997#M4547 So I followed the steps, SSHd in and removed the /apps/plexmediaserver directory. However, when trying to install the Plex Server binaries from the Plex download site, I now get a 'cannot install' error: System: Cannot install application plexmediaserver-ros6-binaries_1.5.5.3634-995f1dead_armel.deb. I have successfully installed Plex from the admin interface. I've set up the folders for scanning and the system stems to be working correctly. I've placed my music there, and can access it from external plex players. I did the default installation. (I say that to say it appears to be working fine.) I would like to add third party channels. Is there away to use the ReadyNAS interface to drop the files in to the proper folder (with in the Plex install)? I have temporarilly enabled SSH, since this appears to be the only method. I have access, but it would appear the admin account does not have WRITE access to the proper folder. How do I change permissions, if this account doesn't have them already? Thanks in advance for any info. RichMultiple file copies in Plex
I have a ReadyNAS 526X running OS 6.6.0. I recently reinstalled Plex on my server and recreated my video library. As the library was being created, I saw that almost all of the movie files on the ReadyNAS created 7 - 8 copies of the file in the Plex application. It took awhile but most of the multiple copied were automatically merged into a single icon in the Plex app although it still retained all of the different versions in the background. There were one or two movie files that did not merge and I had to do those manually. This is just a guess on my part but I am thinking that the Plex app saw all of the files in the Snapshot folders and that resulted in the multiple file copies. Is that correct? If so, it would seem to me that Snapshots should not be enabled for the Videos folder on the ReadyNAS in order to avoid these issues. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Can someone suggest how best to manage these files for the Plex app. Thanks, DavidSolvedPLEX Install error RN104
