Hi, I was running Plex 1.12.2 on ReadyNAS 6.9.2. Today I went to install Plex 1.13.0 via the ReadyNAS web interface, however I receive the error message “Cannot install application plexmediaserver-ros6-binaries”. It had already come up with the usual app install window and churned around for a bit and uninstalled the old version. So I rebooted the ReadyNAS and it’s the same - still can’t install it. I then decided to upgrade the ReadyNAS firmware to 6.9.3. After rebooting I then went to install Plex again but still “Cannot install application plexmediaserver-ros6-binaries”. Thinking I was fortunate I noticed that I had the old Plex download on my hard drive, but alas that won’t install either. plexmediaserver-ros6-binaries_1.13.0.5023-31d3c0c65_amd64.deb plexmediaserver-ros6-binaries_1.12.2.4929-29f6d1796_amd64.deb So as of now I can’t install either version? Any suggestions gratefully received! ReadyNAS is far from full - it’s got 2.4TB free.R9000 problem - Cannot connect network drive located on a Mac for use in Plex
Hello. I have successfully set up a new R9000 router. I am unable to connect a shared network drive for use in Plex. I am able to successfully connect a shared drive located on a PC running Win7, but I am unable to attach a shared drive on a Mac running High Sierra. The Genie interface does not give me a specific error. It just loads a new blank page for entry of a network drive. There is no specific info in the log, just that the drive failed to mount. I found one similar thread here, but there was no solution there. I can’t be the only one trying to attach a Mac drive. I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks!Solved7.9KViews0likes22CommentsIs PLEX compatibile with ReadyNAS 420 Series
Neither ReadyNas RN422 nor 424 are the PLEX compatibility list. Yet PLEX is listed in the Add-on Applications section of the ReadyNAS 420 Series. If one also consider that RN31X models are on the PLEX compatibility list it looks really strange that the 420 Series is not compatible. Cannot understand if is only a problem of updating the list, or if there is some real issue. Does anyone know if PLEX runs on a RN424?SolvedReadyNAS 104 no accessible after to upgrade 6.9.1 and update PLEX
Hi all, The first thing is to say thank you very much in advance for your help. I have a RN104 since Nov.2015 with 4x6TB in RAID 5 (almost full) with both LAN connected with 2 IP. I upgraded the software to 6.9.1 at the begining of December and it was working ok but at the end of Dec I upgraded the APP Plex and it causes a problem in my RN. It is not accesible from any computer (Windows/Windows Explorer or Mac/Finder) it is visible but no accesible to any folder and also other folders are new in the root (admin, data and home) Plex is not detecting the Ready NAS Media Server and it is not possible to see nothing in Plex. NAS is accesible in the Admin page and all disk are working ok and also accessible in RAIDar 6.3.0 Ping from Mac with positive feedback. No working in ReadyCloud - Message is NAS doesn't have connection. What I have tried is: -first to reinstall Plex before to be aware the NAS is not accesible (many times but not possible to install). - I decided to reinstall Firmware from Boot Menu - I reinstall 6.9.1 from admin page - I dowgraded to 6.9.0 from admin page - I upgraded to 6.9.1 from admin page ... but nothing worked I really appreciate your help on this because a lot of info in my NAS I would like to preserve ... I am sending also the logs to the email. PS. Sorry about my English (I am from Spain)...4.9KViews0likes22CommentsInstalled App not showing up on Installed Apps list
I recently installed a ReadyNAS firmware update. After installation it my Plex Applcation did not show up on the installed Apps list. In addition it does not show up in the Available Apps list. The App is running and I can see it remotely, however there is an update to the Plex App but I am unable to install it because I cannot see it on my Installed Apps or Available Apps. Currently running ver 6.9.1. How do I get ReadyNAS to recognise that Plex is installed?Unable to install or uninstall any apps
This issue has been going on for quite a while now, through multiple OS updates. Currently running ReadyNAS OS 6.7.4. I can't install or uninstall any new apps via the admin console. It seems to download them just fine, but when it's working through the actual installation process it tells me it's unable to install or uninstall the package. Mainly, I'm trying to update Plex. Even downloading from the Plex website and uploading via admin console, it says it can't install the package. I've tried restarting, I've tried waiting for the next OS upgrade... nothing. I've already backed up my database files with WInSCP (backed up my couchpotato settings as well, as that's been inoperable for a while) and if all else fails I'll manually install via command line... but I'd REALLY like to fix it the right way.9.4KViews0likes20CommentsPlex Media Server fails to start on ReadyNAS 312
After a recent install of the latest package on my ReadyNAS 312 using the shell and installing the latest postgresql, my plex server fails to start. It fails to start from the app-page on the admin site, and if I try to start it manually from the shell I get the following message: root@NAS-Athena:/# systemctl start fvapp-plexmediaserver.service root@NAS-Athena:/# systemctl enable fvapp-plexmediaserver.service root@NAS-Athena:/# systemctl status fvapp-plexmediaserver.service● fvapp-plexmediaserver.service - Plex Media Server Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/fvapp-plexmediaserver.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled) Active: activating (auto-restart) (Result: exit-code) since Sat 2017-10-07 14:20:52 WEST; 1s ago Process: 22549 ExecStart=/bin/sh -c /apps/plexmediaserver/Binaries/Plex\ Media\ Server (code=exited, status=134) Process: 22544 ExecStartPre=/bin/sh -c /usr/bin/test -d "/apps/plexmediaserver/temp" || /bin/mkdir -p "/apps/plexmediaserver/temp" (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Process: 22540 ExecStartPre=/bin/sh -c /usr/bin/test -d "${PLEX_MEDIA_SERVER_APPLICATION_SUPPORT_DIR}" || /bin/mkdir -p "${PLEX_MEDIA_SERVER_APPLICATION_SUPPORT_DIR}" (code=exited, s tatus=0/SUCCESS) Main PID: 22549 (code=exited, status=134) Oct 07 14:20:52 NAS-Athena systemd[1]: fvapp-plexmediaserver.service: Unit entered failed state. Oct 07 14:20:52 NAS-Athena systemd[1]: fvapp-plexmediaserver.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'. Anyone any clue how to solve this? Or even what might have caused this? I've tried uninstalling plex (both initially from the app page and rebooting and then uninstalling from the shell) - neither seems to resolve the issue. Router Firmware: V1.0.2.32 Nas: Synology DS1815+ (Named Vault) I've been following this guide https://kb.netgear.com/000038628/How-do-I-use-my-R9000-Nighthawk-X10-to-add-a-network-drive-to-my-Plex-media-library and when I get to step 9 "The network drive is added and you are redirected back to the main Plex Media Server page." I am not redirected back to that page, instead I am returned to the same page: However the connection I just added does appear in Plex, but no media is ever found. Here is an example of this: The username and password is that of my nas, using any other returns an error. The dvds folder is on the root of one of my nas drives. The IP of the nas is correct. I click apply, it says please wait a moment, then I am returned to the same page, however 'DVDconnection' is now found in the Plex add media section. So I go into plex, add library, add movies, add folder, browser for media folder, choose DVDconnection (it does not show any subfolders even though they do exist) then add library and get "there are no items in this library" after scanning for a second. I also created a connection called fakefolder for a folder that doesn't exist on the nas and I get the same result. Cannot edit or delete a drive connection from the router settings, my added drive connections displayed in the image above are not seen in the router settings: I already have Plex running on my nas before buying the router so I know the media is compatible. Here is a screenshot of it from the plex on my nas: I can access the files from windows explorer. Permissions for DVDs File services: Bought this router especailly for plex because the nas can't transcode very well. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Thank you for reading and I will appreciate any suggestions.Solved13KViews1like7Commentsorbi RBK50: Plex media server cannot find server on smart tv and firestick
