Plex media server install to RN102 failing even after manual uninstall / package dependency problems
I had similar issues to this closed post here:
So I followed the steps, SSHd in and removed the /apps/plexmediaserver directory.
However, when trying to install the Plex Server binaries from the Plex download site, I now get a 'cannot install' error:
System: Cannot install application plexmediaserver-ros6-binaries_1.5.5.3634-995f1dead_armel.deb.
Worth noting that I tried to use apt-get -f install - but I'm getting error below.
root@ReadyNAS:~# apt-get -f install

Can anyone help?

That worked! I manually installed the new firmware 6.7.1. then I installed the same Plex binaries that failed before (plexmediaserver-ros6-binaries_1.5.6.3790-4613ce077_armel.deb), and it worked. Now updating Plex server with libraries, seems to be all working as previously.
Thanks for your help,
Stephen

Hello pashalifi,
What exactly happens when you try to install the app via admin page? Did you do it from the available apps or manual install?
Please include the model number and firmware version of the NAS.

Hello JennC,
The Plex app is not displayed in the available apps page in my ReadyNas Admin web application, so I install from the manual upload function, after downloading the binaries from the plex site: https://www.plex.tv/downloads/
I make sure to choose the Arm 6.x option (plexmediaserver-ros6-binaries_1.5.5.3634-995f1dead_armel.deb). I have a ReadyNas 102 on firmware version 6.6.1.
When I try to upload the software in the ReadyNas admin page, I get the Installing Application dialogue box with spinning timer, then the error message: System: Cannot install application plexmediaserver-ros6-binaries_1.5.5.3634-995f1dead_armel.deb.
I can attach system logs if that would help?
All the best,
Stephen

Don't attach them here. If a Netgear mod asks for them, use this procedure: https://kb.netgear.com/21543/How-do-I-send-all-logs-to-ReadyNAS-Community-moderators

That has been true for quite a while now. Plex distributes it on the their own.
