PS3 Media Server for ReadyNAS PRO

Should subtitles work form mkv file? I have rip DVD and BR with MakeMKV and I can see subtitle with my linux. However open it with PMS I can't see subtitle. I don't have .srt file in same directory.

We really need an updated addon here. Anyhow here's what I did:

Installed the latest three packages posted here (page 4?)
stopped the addon
downloaded the latest generic linux version (1.50 beta 2) and untarred it.
Copied the pms.jar from the download to /c/addons-config/pms.
Copied the files in the download/renderers directory to /c/addons-config/pms/renderers.

Then to get thumbnails working:

Since we're headless we have no GUI to set it up. The multitude of poorly documented settings are defined in the code here:

Everything seems to work except the two mkv's I have get "data is corrupted" and the one ISO i've tried didn't get a thumbnail like everything else. If anyone knows what these might be please let me know.

it worked for one mkv, no subs(as your config)

after, it did'nt for the second mkv on the others: corrupted file

by now, can't get the "server" to be seen in my PS3... even after 2-3 reboot

:(

Not showing up is odd. I must have stopped and started fifty times tweaking settings and it always came and went quickly on the ps3. I never even had to search for servers. I've since commented out the remuxing lines. Use # to comment a line if you want to try that. Maybe there is a rogue instance running or something. Use ps to see if there is one on the nas and kill it.

Well, I installed this to get iso support, but I'm really underwhelmed. Iso's are slow and not very usable. If anyone knows of a server which actually plays a dvd menu that would be much better. So I think I'm going to uninstall pms. I did learn how to generate thumbnails at least from the experience and now I have them on the minidlna server.
