With transmissionr6_3.00.8_all.deb it worked, and seems stable. Now, I'll try to get the old config back.

In this case, I can assure you it wasnt by lack of CPU power. The ReadyNAS in question is the Pro6 with a Core2Quad :-D

He's not suggesting that - he's saying that turning off some optimization in the compiler "solved" the problem.
That means either the compiler has a bug, or that the program has a bug (perhaps timing dependent) that disappears when the optimizer is turned off.
