Are you trying to run ReadyDataOS or ReadyNASOS on it? No matter which, it's not just a matter of putting the OS on it. It has to be made bootable. Was this working and quit, or did you purchase it used in that condition? Unfortunately, some who resell them incorrectly believe that the flash contains data specific to them and wipe or even remove it.
I have no idea how to do a USB recovery of ReadyDataOS. I believe an OS4.2 style recovery with a 6.x image should work for ReadyNASOS, even if the USB is blank. But it may need to be partitioned first.
It's a 512K USB 2.0 drive. Something larger would work, but it's probably best to just partition the first 512K for ReadyDataOS and 256K for ReadyNASOS (as that's what an RB4200V2 has). At least, that's what I did in a similar situation where the drive was missing entirely. But I had an OS6 image from another unit I could restore to it -- I wasn't starting from scratch.

We have been using the device for about 6 years.
The device does not boot. We have data on the device. We think that the Dongle on the device is faulty. We did OS-reinstall and it didn't work. When we do OS-reinstall, the device waits for a long time but does not boot. We need to recover the data on the device. Is there a method you would recommend? - funalDec 01, 2021Aspirant
to boot the device from another usb. Actually, we need the image file and the ODM file.

I'm afraid you are going to find limited support for ReadyData here. I never ran my 5200 as a ReadyData except to see that it worked before converting to ReadyNASOS and don't know what an ODM file is. Is it unique to the unit, like the vpd on a ReadyNAS? Do you have another 5200 from which you can image the USB?
