ReadyNAS 316 High command time outs on WD Enterprise SSD

You suggested swapping disk 6 and 1 - can I do this when all six disks are one volume in X-Raid mode? Or would that require a backup / restore?
You can. The RAID array should assemble with the disks in any order, but it is often useful in troubleshooting to keep them in the proper order. Just make sure you power down the NAS before you remove them (and power up again after they are swapped).
This is just a test - after you had time to assess if the problem moves with the disk [or not], you should put them back.
I suggest labeling the disks by slot as you remove them, as you don't want to lose track of where they belong.

Many thanks Stephen. I started the disk test and also downloaded the firmware beta. Will do the upgrade as soon as the test finishes.

Thanks Stephen, the disk indeed appears to have an issue. I replaced it and after re-syncing, the error has not reappeared. The antivirus is also updating now that I'm running the beta firmware version.
Many thanks for your help - it was much appreciated. Best, Woodie
