ruTorrent 3.3 + rTorrent
ruTorrent 3.3 + rTorrent
- Description:
ruTorrent is a front-end for the popular Bittorrent client rTorrent. Main features:Lightweight server side, so it can be installed on old and low-end servers and even on some SOHO routers. Also it is extensible - there are several plugins and everybody can create his own one.
rTorrent is a BitTorrent client for ncurses, using the libtorrent library. The client and library is written in C++ with emphasis on speed and efficiency, while delivering equivalent features to those found in GUI based clients in an ncurses client.
- Requirements: RAIDiator 4.1.6+ (may work with earlier versions but that's untested)
For this add-on to work, the PHP add-on has to be installed on your ReadyNAS.
- Platform: Sparc
- Current Version: ruTorrent 3.3 v0.2.2
- Changes in this release:
- None, initial release
- Please Note
Due to the limited CPU resources available on the ReadyNAS Sparc line the throughput of rTorrent on the ReadyNAS may be significantly lower than what you may be used to from running it on your client computer. That's not a problem with the software itself but really due to the fact that the CPU in the Sparc models is running at 266MHz max.
- Details/Installation:
- After installation of the add-on, tuTorrent's web interface can be accessed by typing http://<ip of your NAS>/rutorrent in your browser's address field.
- To change the port range used by rTorrent you simply insert the desired portnumbers into the input field in the add-on's pane under "Services" -> "Installed Add-ons" in Frontview and press the "Set" button:
- By default rTorrent will use the prots from 50000-55000

WhoCares offers add-ons on a variety of ReadyNAS platforms. If you have a request for him, perhaps it is better to post that on his website: https://rnxtras.com/
