Schedule of dropbox sync to NAS box

Hi Team,

 

Could somebody help me to sync my NAS box 3312 to Dropbox in schedule time, so that i can put sync when all my local users are idle. When i sync dropbox, it is started syncing immediately on realtime, which will effect my internet bandwidth as it takes days time to  sync. Someone could help me to sync drop box on particular schedule time.

    Hi rajendar!

     

    Syncing to Dropbox is in real-time only and will not have any options to change it on ReadyNAS system and Dropbox.

     

    If you will only sync small sized data such as documents you may want to try creating another share where the users will be storing the data. Then have it backed up on your preferred schedule on the folder that is synced with Dropbox, this way the Dropbox sync will only start once the backup has finished and detected the files added.

     

    The downside here would be the data; it will have two copies taking space on your ReadyNAS volume. You can purge the other share from time to time since you already have copies on Dropbox.

     

    You can try these steps

     

    Setup a "Dropbox share" to sync.

     

    Setup Dropbox

     

    create another "share"  where the user data will be stored, and then set up a backup job for this "share" to back up to the "Dropbox share" by selecting two local folders on the backup manager.

    You would have to schedule the backup outside of office hours because once the backup started transferring data to the "Dropbox share" Sync to Dropbox will also initiate.

     

    Your Idea has a good point and might help improve the functionality of the product. I would recommend posting your suggestions and ideas at the Idea Exchange board. If it garners Kudos, it might get considered.

      But i have data of 5TB, for which i cannot have two folders in NASbox. i have posted in idea exchaneg board, lets hope for get this feature.
