Still no ability to email status of backup jobs?
Seriously this should be fairly easy to implement, but there doesn't appear to be ANY email notification option for the status of backups.
It should, at the least, send an email (if you do daily) daily, with the status of the previous backup.
As it stands now, we have to login to the site every single stinking day to make sure it ran okay.
This is basic feature, yet NetGear doesn't seem to comprehend this.

- ahpsi1TutorMaybe I'm missing something but under the backup job definition, step 4 "Choose Backup Options" the selection "On backup completion, send <status and errors> to the alert email address" appears to meet the criteria you list?

Nope, don't see that anywhere in any of the existing backup jobs
Or do you only get one chance to create it? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredAre you using the ReadyNAS Vault addon to backup to the cloud or are you using Frontview Backup?

The ReadyNAS Vault add-on (this is the ReadyNAS Vault forum, yes?)
So you login to the web interface for ReadyNAS Vault and click Create Backup and there's no option there at all to specify email notifications.
Of course, I also just noticed the darn thing hasn't updated in over a month (seems to be a "feature" of ReadyNAS vault that it randomly stops working).
This is a ReadyNAS Duo I believe. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee Retired

That's what I thought. From ahpsi's response it seems that he was talking about Frontview backup not ReadyNAS Vault.
I guess you should take a look at the advice in the announcement for this forum: How to contact ReadyNAS Vault Support. - ahpsi1TutorMy apologies, I should have looked at the forum title. Yes, my response was referring to a Frontview backup not a Vault backup.
- hurnikAspirantI will open a ticket with NetGear. Hopefully they have some form of email notification for off-site backups (via ReadyNas Vault)
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIf tech support doesn't answer your question to your satisfaction then send an email to the ReadyNAS Vault Support (see info in the link above).
- hurnikAspirantReadyNas Vault does not have email ability for backup status. That's what Vault Support sent to me.
What a shame. Several years and it can't support the most basic feature that every other online backup system has.
I guess I'll have to look at competitors from now on. hurnik wrote:

It is poor product when you start to compare it to alternatives, BUT(!) it does also have it's plus points. (Built-in integration being best USP)
I binned it off simply on cost POV alone. It's far far too over priced IMO.
