Disk Test Status
Hi, I have started a disk test on my Readynas 626x.
It has 6 drives of 6 TB each in X-raid. There is about 4TB of free space left.
I have been having issues with small files corrupting on the NAS. (e.g. 34 kb srt files)
Just to make sure it isn't a bad disk I started a disk test.
But where do I see the progress?
I dowloaded the logs and saw in the volumes file that 4/6 disk have passed their latest test, the first 2 disk are running the test. It has been over 48 hours since I started it. Anyway to get an indication how long this might last?

You can get some idea with ssh, using smartctl -a /dev/sdX (using the appropriate drive letter for the disk you want to get the status for).
Every sector of every drive in the volume is read, so it does take a while. And if a disk isn't healthy, it will take longer...
What model disks are you using?
Have you looked in the logs for disk errors?

Thanks,
The drives are WD blue drives (so not specifically designed for NAS)
No, I haven't had disk error messages and can't see anything out of the ordinary in the logs.
From the smart check I see that One drive has a ridicioulously high load cycle count (>1.000.000), but that one actually passed the disk test. The tow drives that are still running the test (A and B) show status 241 - 10% of test remaining.
I will check again in about 12 hours.- SandsharkSensei
"WD Blue" is not a model number, but most likely those are SMR drives unless they are quite old, which will definitely give you issues with RAID. Writes can also be excessively long for large files or a whole lot of small ones, but the reads for the drive test aren't really affected. If you give a specific model number, we can check if they are SMR (bad for RAID) or CMR (good for RAID), or just Google the model number and "SMR"
