Disk Test Failure

I've just received a Disk Test Failure email notice. Upon consulting the system volume log, I find this:

Note the Current Pending Sector Count, as well as the Latest Self Test result.

I've scheduled another test in the meantime; it takes about 12 hours and will start in a few minutes from now.

How serious is this? Should I replace the drive?

Thanks,

Well, you've got a point there...  better safe than sorry. I'll wait to see what this second test turns up.

6TB Red Pros are my eventual goal. These will have to do for now.

There's nothing wrong with the WDC Reds, many users here (including me) have found them to be reliable.

        Thanks for the clarification.

FWIW in my case at least, I've got the Pros in my sights for the extra RPMs. I know I don't necessarily need that for the RN, but I do for my production server. If I standardize between the server and the RN, I can keep a single cold spare on hand that'll work in either place.

FYI two out of three RN disk tests have failed on SMART. I've started an RMA on the drive.
