- kevink1AspirantHi, big fan of supersync desktop apps. I'm using ReadyNAS Duo V2 (ARM)...everytime I try to upload the *.deb file I receive a package error. Is the app built for my platform? Thx
- darshinAspirantHi Kevin,
Thank you for your post. Really glad to know that you have been a SuperSync Desktop App fan too :). We could test SuperSync Server with ReadyNAS Duo V2 and help you with the solution. I would confirm the same as soon as possible.
Just to give you and everyone on the forum an update, we are close to releasing an upgrade on the SuperSync Server app with most of the beta bugs fixed and a few more capabilities added.
Regards,
Darshin - kevink1AspirantGreat thx Darshin. Just PM me if you need me to test anything.
- darshinAspirantHi Everyone,
Thank you very much for feedback and input. Based upon the bug submissions (not many of them gladly!) and based on some basic feature recommendations and must haves, we have incorporated the changes in the new release and its available for users to try. You can download it from our website: https://www.supersync.com/downloads/SuperSync-1.0.4-20140419.all.deb
The version 1.0.4's key highlight is a better control over music directory on NAS, key root login bugs resolved and better playlist management and smoother integration with SuperSync Desktop.
I would request you all to kindly try this new version out and provide us with the feedback. If there's any support or help needed from our end, please feel free to contact me or reply to this thread.

SuperSync - kevink1AspirantHi Guys,
Thx for the message. I'm still getting an 'Architecture is bad' message when trying to add the addon in Frontview. I am using an DUO V2 that runs on the ARM platform. Normally the add-ons I install are *.bin files. Are the Debian packages for ReadyNAs x86 or Sparc platforms? Sorry I'm no expert in this area. - darshinAspirantHi Kevin,
We don't support FrontView. Only the newer .deb installers. For now, only .deb is supported. We will definitely support it in later version but since currently we have a tight deadline for the GA release, it might not be possible for this version. We've got a few of the ReadyNAS customers who've got it installed and its working like a charm for them, so we could get their input on the ReadyNAS version they are using. The Debian packages are no-arch, meaning they should support either of the platforms. We use java, so as long as Java is running on either, it should work. Ill have someone from my suppor team work with you to help you resolve this or if some tweaks are needed, we could have it being supported in our next release.
Anybody else on the forum who is testing SuperSync Server and facing similar issues?
Please feel free to ask us any questions you have.
Regards,
Darshin - darshinAspirantHi Everyone,
As we inch closer to the GA for SuperSync Server, please feel free to contact us if you are encountering any problems while installing and testing SuperSync Server beta?
Some of the ReadyNAS versions might not be supported currently, but we aim of providing support to them as well post GA.
For complete help and support on installation and identifying if your ReadyNAS is supported by us, please feel free to contact us. We would love to hear and get more feedback from you all.
Thanks,
Darshin - My x86 install on OS6 went pretty smoothly, albeit a slower process than I expected. (I had assumed it failed tbh, but the successful message eventually appeared).
I setup admin read/write passwords as necessary with ease. And installed the desktop version on W7 with no hassle. SSS seemed to happily find the music on the NAS and ran it's process. That was as far as I could go and I haven't had time to go back and finish since. I'm hoping to be able to soon.
So far, so good and nice and simple. - The updates released today have solved a couple of issues, though I''m not sure if stability has become an issue with the the Windows release... More testing required at my end.
- schalliolAspirantI very much want to use this on my Ultra 4 Plus (or if I must on my NV+ (v1)). How do you install it?
I posted this thread on a Mac site, and definitely others see the potential as well.
