VPN Client

Are there any add-ons that provide VPN *client* functionality? I installed Poussin's VPN Server, but it doesn't seem to be able to connect to my pfSense 2.0.2 firewall/vpn as a client. The only possibility with SoftEther VPN Server seemed to be IPsec Site-to-Site, which I couldn't get to connect, and which would be over-kill since the only thing at the remote location that needs to be part of the VPN is the NAS. pfSense 2.0.2 supports IPsec, L2TP, OpenVPN, and PPTP.

Did you try Poussin's vpnclient_1.1.6_all.deb??? It is in his OS6 dropbox.

I haven't tried it btw. just wondering if you overlooked it...
  • I didn't try that. I assumed all his stuff was in the NAS' "Available Apps" list. I'll look into it first thing tomorrow. Thanks. Any idea why it isn't in the Available Apps list?

That's his story to tell I think.
  • I installed VPN Client. How do I get to the management interface? The SE-VPN Server Manager (Tools) that works with the VPN Server doesn't seem to work with the client. https://[removed].softether.net:14443/ in firefox returns "Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server. HTTP Server at 192.168.1.50 Port 14443". I can connect to VPN Server using the server manager program on port 14443.

    Thanks.
  • I have installed the VPN client (1.1.6) on a 314 (6.1.4) and I can see the application in Apps. But the launch button in grayed out and the application is not responding on any of the ports. I cannot find any GUI. Any suggestions?

  • Did you guys download the VPN Management application from the vpnserver share?
It's windows only (really annoying) but it works.
  • Side note: An updated version is also available below as well.
