Windows 8 share backup

I have a Readynas Duo with a backup working to a windows 7 share and am trying to move it to a windows 8 share. Getting a connection error when testing, share settings are the same as the windows 7 pc. Any tips?

  • Check the workgroup of the windows 8 PC, should be the same as the NAS and windows 7 PC.
Are the login details the same for all 3 devices?
Are permissions correct on the W8 share?
  • workgroup is the same. Login is the same for w7 and w8 pc but is different for the readynas. I set the share permissions as everyone/full on the w8 pc which is the same as the w7 pc. Thanks.
  • Gave up on the w8 share issue. Installed Hanewin NFS server on the w8 pc and configured the backup to connect to the NFS share.
